Not professional advice

This site explains how Danish systems work. It is not legal, tax, immigration, medical or financial advice, and reading it does not create any kind of professional relationship. Danish rules change, and they often turn on your personal circumstances — your permit type, your citizenship, how long you have been here, whether you have children, what you signed.

Before you act on anything here that has money, residency or health consequences, check the authority’s own page (every guide links to them) or ask the institution, your union, or an adviser. Where we are unsure, we say so rather than guess.

How the content is made

Every guide is researched from primary sources: the Danish authorities’ own pages (borger.dk, skat.dk, nyidanmark.dk, sundhed.dk, retsinformation.dk and similar), and a company’s own published terms when the question is about that company’s prices.

  • Drafting is AI-assisted; publication is not automatic. Drafts are produced with language models and then reviewed against the sources, with figures, deadlines, fees and legal thresholds checked against the authority’s page.
  • We do not publish a claim we cannot point at. Each guide ends with the list of sources it was checked against, and a count of them appears on the site.
  • We verify the links. A weekly check re-tests every cited URL and reports anything that has died, so the sources list does not rot.
  • We would rather be silent than wrong. When a figure cannot be confirmed, the guide says it could not be confirmed instead of picking a number.

If a guide here contradicts an authority’s own page, the authority is right and we are wrong — tell us and we will fix it.

Corrections

Tell us through the correction form — it takes a moment and needs no account. If you can include the official page that shows the right answer, the fix is much faster. We correct errors in place, and the date at the top of each guide changes when it is updated.

Factual errors are always free to report and are never treated as an imposition. If you manage one of the official sources we cite and something is misstated, please tell us and we will amend it promptly.

News

Our news section summarises and links. We do not republish other outlets’ articles, we do not copy their photographs, and we write our own summaries in our own words with a link to the original. Where a story comes from a source whose terms reserve machine processing, we link to it and do not process it. If you believe we have misrepresented your reporting, contact us and we will correct or remove it.

Independence and who pays for this

This site is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for any Danish authority, municipality, or company it writes about.

Running it costs money. It is funded by:

  • an ebook — the paid, downloadable version of this material (all guides stay free on the site)
  • clearly-labelled sponsorship, if and when it exists — any sponsored placement is marked as such and never changes what a guide says

We do not accept payment to alter a guide’s factual content. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

Who is responsible

This site has a named publisher, who is accountable for what appears here and for corrections. You can reach them through the feedback form or at [email protected].

Privacy

Submitting the form, or subscribing to the newsletter, means we hold what you send us. What we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to have it deleted is set out on the privacy page.

Spotted something wrong on this page? A figure that has moved, a form that has been renamed, a link that no longer works — report it. Corrections are answered and the page gets fixed.
